WHAT IS sPaCeViD? The sPaCeViD program is a custom designed video rental software program that allows video rental stores to manage their rentals and keep track of their video rental membership and video sales and inventory. The program was originally designed in 2001 for a small video store called Rock’s Video located in Quesnel, British Columbia. The original software that the business was using was an old DOS based program that was extremely difficult to use and inefficient for a small video store. By converting to a Windows based program more information could be viewed quickly on the screen and selected information could be more easily printed out.	FEATURES Current features of version 2.0 include: - rental and return tracking - movie inventory tracking - membership information tracking - current rentals - overdue rental history - overdue payment feature - free rental and discount feature - expansion of different pricing structures and categories - flexibility for in-store specials and promotions, and - different report generators such as: - late movie report - current rental report - movies sold report
INSIDE THE PROGRAM
Inside the program are 5 different tabs selections that allow you to do a variety of different functions. RENTALS TAB This tab allows the user to view, print, rent, and return videos. With quick function key's the user can rent and return videos very quickly and efficiently. With scrolling features, users can scroll through rentals and view if members have returned movies and when they were returned.
	MOVIES TAB The most important part of video rentals is keeping track of your inventory. This tab allows the owner to add, remove, edit and sell movies. A search function is also included to allow the user to search for movies either by their ID number or by their name.
MEMBERS TAB Another important part of video rentals is keeping track and maintaining Membership information. This tab keeps track of all registered members. Standard information such as phone number, last name, first name, address, and comment are included in this tab. Some extra features that have been added are the ‘Overdue History’ report, a ‘Pay Overdue’ balance button, and a ‘Current Rental’ report. Other information included in this tab is the tracking of free rentals, overdue balance, and customer discount information. This tab also allows the user to search for members either by their first name, last name, membership ID number or by their phone number.
	REPORTS TAB An important part of any inventory style program is its reporting functions. In the reports tab, the user can view as well as print up to 3 different reports. These reports include information on all sold movies, rented movies, and overdue movies. As the program develops further with the needs of our customers, more reports can and will be added to the reports tab. SETUP TAB In the Setup Tab, the user is able to add different movie categories and promotional days. Different movie categories may include VHS New Arrivals, VHS Regular or older movies, DVD New Arrivals or DVD Regular or older movies. Some promotional days may include Qty. 5 VHS $1.99 Movies for 5 days for $5.00 or All VHS $1.99 Movies for $1.49 on Tuesday.

How to Install Demo Software sPaCeViD Software Installation Welcome to sPaCeViD Software Installation Setup. Please ensure that MSAccess97 is installed on your system before installing this program. If you have any problems during or after installation, please call us at 1-877-370-7652. Installation Instructions: 1) Insert the CD into your CD-ROM Drive 2) Select "OK" to start Setup 3) Select the large computer button, leave the directory unchanged. 4) Select "Continue" to allow the program to install in the correct location 5) If during installation you receive an error message such as:           "An error occurred while registering the file           "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\expsrv.dll""           Click on "Ignore" 6) Select "OK" to complete the installation Running the software: 1) Click on your "START" button in the bottom left corner of Windows 2) Select "Programs" 3) Select "sPaCeViD - Video Rental Program" 4) Then Select "sPaCeViD v2.0" and the program should start 5) To demo the program, select "DEMO" 6) Then Select "Start Demo Mode" to go into the program **** If you have any problems during or after installation, call 1-877-370-7652 ****
TEMPLATE FILES All templates are made in MSWord and MSExcel format and can be modifed to your needs. The following are templates that you will receive to help your business and your customers. - The MembershipIDCards-Back and Front file will show you the templates for creating your Membership ID Cards, if you wish to use them. Each card owner will receive a unique Membership ID number that will correspond to his or her account. Multiple accounts can be made under the same lastname and phone number so that parents can provide their kids will accounts if they wish to do so.      Membership ID Cards Front, Back - The VHSDVDVideoLabels are the stickers that are placed on the side of your VHS cassettes or within the DVD cases. There stickers also have a unique ID number for each DVD, VHS, or GAME that you may have.      VHS, DVD Video Label Sticker - The VideoJacketLabels are used and placed on your DVD, VHS or GAME shelf jacket. Even with duplicate or multiple copies of movies each unit has it's own unique ID number that corresponds to it's unique VHSDVDVideoLabel.      Video Jacket Label Sticker All stickers and membership cards can be purchased at any Staples/Grand'n Toy or Office Depot and Membership cards use the regular business card templates and can be laminated using a small business card laminating machine. Most of the stickers and membership cards all have bar codes that are ready to work with the software. Please note that Handheld Bar Code unit are not included.
